Stars, musicians, fans and publications took to social media to remember Mac Miller on the two-year anniversary of his death.
Labor Day has a certain sadness to it this year. For those still feeling the sting of the tragic loss of Miller, who died 2 years ago today. Above all, fans and friends alike have marked the date by sharing tributes to the late rapper. Including Mustard, Wale, Juicy J, Souly Had and many more.
Musician Thundercat also shared a heartfelt post on his verified Twitter account. “You have two families, the family you’re born with and the family you choose. The family I chose, Not a day goes by I don’t feel it. I know y’all feel it too. Only bumping Miller today,” he said.

Friends and Fans Share Mac Miller Tributes on Two-Year Anniversary of His Death
Miller grew up in Point Breeze and his first named album was “Blue Slide Park” in honor of the playground at Frick Park. However, Mac died at just 26 on September 7, 2018 at his home in Studio City, CA. And his passing left a profound impact on the music industry.
In other words, his death was ruled an accident after he was found to have a mixture of fentanyl, cocaine and ethanol. After that, Cameron Pettit, Stephen Walter, and Ryan Reavis are accused of selling Miller the drugs that led to his overdose. Therefore, the news of Miller’s passing hit hard for his fans and loved ones. Similarly, including his ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande.
In addition, Mac died just over a month after the release of his fifth album, Swimming. His first posthumous LP Circles arrived earlier this year to critical and commercial acclaim, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. At the time, it is a companion album to “Swimming.”
